WORKSHOPS IN MY STUDIO

I provide sculpture, hand building and surface design workshops in my studio in North Boulder several times a year. Small groups in each class allow for personal attention and quick growth in your clay skills. We create a positive and fun team as we work to a common theme, still allowing each person’s aesthetic to come through. My studio is a place to ditch your inner critic and applaud your creativity. We learn, we support everyone’s growth and we celebrate what is possible in clay with hands and heart.

Testamonial

"Willi is a fantastic teacher! She has so much clay wisdom and gently guided me through creating the totem I envisioned. She has a vast knowledge of the materials and processes, and generously shares that knowledge with her students. She also fostered community among the participants so that we could learn from, and support one another. Willi's workshops are about being with the clay and helping her participants grow as artists." from Saoirse, a recent student.

I’m happy to provide more references from other student experiences on request.

REPEATER’S CLASS

An advanced student made this sculpture. She carved most of the texture on her pieces. The glaze choices added variety and rhythm to her piece while highlighting her spectacular birds.

Repeating students take what they learned previously and move forward in refining many skills and learning new surface and forming techniques.

BEGINNER’S CLASS Here is a first time clay student and her garden sculpture. Even first timers with clay will complete a sculpture using the forming techniques I teach. The project is geared for all levels. Parts can take on more detail through textures or celebrate form through light and shadow.
